Magnetic Distance

Magnetic Distance is a work grounded in the themes of spirituality and cosmology. Influenced by Tibetan, Diwali and Hindu philosophy, and utilizes gestalt and mathematical theories as a process toward the creation of the work.

Consisting of sea salt, a found tree branch and a wooden tetrahedron constructed out of branches, the work explores the binaries of form and formlessness, material and nonmaterial, to examine the relationship between creative form and viewer perception.

The (energetic) experience of Magnetic Distance altering slightly with every exchange between audience and work is a key process to its fulfillment as an idea.
